What is GLC’s mission statement?
Our collective is dedicated to individuals who embrace the duality of being both Left and right side of the slash, in regards to Authority Exchange Dynamics, otherwise known as a S/switch. We seek to build a vibrant community where members can find support, understanding, and camaraderie. We are committed to upholding the core Leather values of Respect, Honor, Duty, Perseverance, Education, Loyalty, Service, Integrity, and Courage; fostering a space where everyone can explore and express their identities fully and without judgment. Through education, advocacy, and shared experiences, we strive to empower our members to thrive within their unique dynamics and contribute positively to the broader Leather community.
Who can join GLC?
Membership is open to individuals who identify as a S/switch according to the definition of the Collective- embrace the duality of being both Left and right side of the slash, in regards to Authority Exchange Dynamics, regardless of gender or sexual identity.
What are membership requirements?
Attend monthly general business meetings. *Must attend 8 out of 12 general business meetings to be in good standing.
Uphold the code of conduct and the Leather values of Respect, Honor, Duty, Perseverance, Education, Loyalty, Service, Integrity, and Courage.
Members of the collective are not exclusively tied to Gemini Leather Collective. They are free to be involved in and participate with other organizations as well.
Are there membership dues?
Yearly dues of $25- The purpose of the yearly dues of $25 is to support the operational costs of the Collective, including event planning, community outreach, and resources for members. These dues help maintain the Collective's activities, ensure the sustainability of programs, and contribute to the overall growth and development of the community.
How does the Collective work?
GLC is proud to welcome all S/switches from across the United States into our growing community. As a national collective, we operate primarily through Discord, fostering connection, support, and camaraderie in a digital space that brings us together regardless of distance.
Recognizing the vastness of our community and the limited size of our board, we are excited to introduce Regional Liaisons. These dedicated representatives will serve as points of contact for specific regions, with a mission to:
Coordinate events and socials tailored to their region.
Support members by addressing local needs and fostering connections.
Communicate with the board to ensure that each region is effectively served and represented.
As part of the Collective, members will gain access to a variety of benefits, including:
Educational resources to deepen understanding and skill development.
Peer support to navigate the unique dynamics of being a S/switch.
Opportunities for community engagement, empowering members to educate others, host socials, and represent GLC in their local areas.
